Please share your experience working with patients diagnosed with COVID-19
I have personally tested patients for Coronavirus in my urgent care and I have had quite a few turn out positive. We don’t have enough tests, so we haven’t been able to test all those with symptoms. We saved testing for those that were “thought” to be at highest risk of complications. I’m sure there were people that I couldn’t test that were positive. We started getting low on PPE so we started putting plans in place to conserve equipment. Our country has been unprepared for this pandemic and things are still not adequately handled.
What advice would you give to people during this pandemic?
Everyone should shelter-in-place as much as possible. Stay home if your symptoms are manageable because there is no confirmed treatment and the more people are out with symptoms, the more people will be at risk for contracting this disease. Wear masks out when you do have to go out for essential supplies. Practice good hygiene with handwashing and hand sanitizer.
Most importantly, pray for mankind and trust that God will get us through this.
