Please share your experience working with students during the pandemic?
While I am grateful for keeping the means to support my family. I have been tasked to support a hundred families deal with life-changing situations. The only tool I have is wifi and a laptop computer. Supporting parents while they support their kids and providing a space for kids to process without being a pushover at the same time is a delicate balance. It is stressful and it is a defining moment that lets me know how passionate I am about the field of education.
What advice would you give to people during this pandemic?
I think my first piece of advice is to learn something online so you can get an idea of the possibilities before trying to teach online. My other advice is to resist the urge to fix things with retail therapy. Both things live on the same screen so you need willpower!
